PROJECT one: MADE IN PALESTINE

September 2019 - March 2020

DONATION RESULT

AU $2,542.00

In 2019, our inaugural project was launched in Palestine with the goal of providing targeted support at a micro level, directly benefiting families and small businesses in the West Bank. Collaborating with a skilled Palestinian artisan from Bethlehem, we designed and handcrafted a unique collection of T-shirts symbolising Palestinian calls for liberation.

Each T-shirt was meticulously hand-sewn and printed by George, a 74-year-old craftsman. Working alongside his brother and their sons, George operates a small design studio in the basement of his family home. Despite limited demand for his services in the West Bank, the studio serves as a critical source of income for his extended family, sustaining their livelihoods during challenging times.

This micro-level project was designed to provide direct and tangible support to George’s family. The funds generated covered essential expenses, including rent, food, and utility bills, sustaining his extended family—grandchildren, nephews, siblings, and beyond—for six months.

In addition, all remaining proceeds from Project One were donated to families living in the Aida and Dheisheh refugee camps, expanding the project’s impact.
